Toda’s works—created by placing crushed glass into heat resistant plaster molds which are then placed in an electric furnace and melted, cooled gradually, and finally perfected by processing and polishing—are characterized by their colorful range, and use of contrasting shades and gradation of color. According to the artist, “Although it is a long process, it is by going through it that I am reminded of the beauty of glass.” This exhibition showcases Toda’s glassware, and decorative pieces that reflect light in their own unique and beautiful way, and create a gentle air around them.
